I discovered this song a few months ago. It's no less haunting than it was the first time I heard it. That version is more produced, and while it's incredible, I prefer this stripped-down version.
Eivør is from the Faroe Islands off the coast of Norway, snug in between Norway, Iceland, and the UK. She's singing in her native tongue of Faroese, and I understand the title means "spellbound." This is exactly the way I feel when I listen to this song.
Here she is singing "Trøllabundin."
