Imbolc

With Ostara tomorrow, I thought I'd share my Imbolc celebration.

It was pretty barebones. My health has been an issue as I try to celebrate the lunar cycle and the sabbats. I've been weak and not able to get around. I wanted to do a simmer pot recipe I found online, but that didn't happen. I'm hoping to do one for Ostara.

Honestly, I'd love to spend the day celebrating as I did Mabon before my health issues kinda exploded into focus. Long term view, it was a blessing to finally get a diagnosis. But it's been difficult to adjust.

If you'd like to read about that event in my life, here's where I talk about it on my other blog.

I was able to create a simple altar dedicated to Imbolc, but I couldn't do much because my health was bad at the time.

The paper at the back is a printed collage of stock images of Imbolc correspondences. It was really all I could do.

You can see my more permanent altar decorations. Driftwood I've gathered over the years for earth, a Japanese fan that belonged to my great-grandmother for air, candles inside the Japanese-style teacups for fire, and an oyster shell I found on the beach for water. In the center is a small tiger carving, representing my guide who has for many years appeared in my meditations as a tiger.

This was really my only celebration of the holiday because of my health struggles. I was greatly disappointed, but I've been able to do more for Ostara.

I hope to be able to do much more for the sabbats in the future!
